The dead body of a 14-year-old was found inside a gunny sack in Kecher Mor rail line area of Akkelpur upazila in Joypurhat on Wednesday.
The deceased was identified as Nazmul, son of Al Amin of Khadail village under Badalgachi upazila of Naogaon.
Police and the victim's family said the kidnappers called the teenager from his home via a phone call last Friday afternoon.
They then called the family and demanded a ransom of Tk15 lakh.
Nazmul's father filed a case against four people of the village at Badalgachi police station suspecting their involvement in the abduction.
Police detained the four accused on Saturday night, informed Badalgachi police station OC Rayhan Hossain.
In primary questioning the arrestees denied all allegations of the kidnapping.
On Wednesday morning, locals spotted a dead body in a sack and informed the police who recovered it at 7:30am.
Nazmul’s mother and uncle identified the body.
Police sent the body to a local hospital morgue for autopsy.
They have detained another woman who they suspect is linked to the kidnapping and murder, investigation is ongoing informed police.
