Police have recovered the body of an official from the Indian Assistant High Commission office in the Khulshi area of Chittagong city.
The deceased, identified as Naren Dhar, 38, was found dead at the commission office on Tuesday morning.
Khulshi Police Station Officer-in-Charge Ariful Islam said Dhar was serving as a protocol officer at the Indian Assistant High Commission and was an Indian national.
“On receiving information, police recovered the body in the presence of commission officials. The officer used to live in a room on the second floor of the office building. We recovered the body lying on the floor inside that room and sent it to the morgue of Chittagong Medical College Hospital for autopsy,” he said.
Assistant Commissioner of Chittagong Metropolitan Police (Media) Aminur Rashid said the cause of death has not yet been determined.
“No signs of injury or wounds were found on the body. The exact cause of death will be known after the autopsy report,” he said.
