Two jailed for making derogatory remarks about Islam

The infuriated locals handed them over to police after they made anti-Islamic remarks in the Bazar area around 8pm on Sunday

Police have arrested two borthers for making deragatory remarks about Islam and Prophet Mohammed (pbuh) from Jahajmara union of Hatia Upazila, Noakhali and sent them to jail.

The accused, Biplob Chandra Das, 27, and Pulak Chandra Das, 23, were making anti-Islamic remarks when the infuriated locals detained them and handed them over to police on Sunday evening around 8pm.

A certain Md Milad Uddin, president of Bazar Management Committee filed a case against the duo for hurting religious sentiments on Monday afternoon.

“They were sent to jail by the court after we produced them before it,” said Inspector Kanchan Kanti Das of Hatia police station.
