A woman who was raped on several occasions in Rampal upazila of Bagerhat is currently in the eighth month of her pregnancy.
She filed a case in this regard under the Woman and Child Repression Prevention Act on Friday, said Rampal police station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Md Monjurul Alam.
OC Monjurul said: "The woman's husband was in India for a year and seven months looking for work. Taking advantage of the situation, a local youth, Yamin, raped the woman and took photos of the incident on January 5.

"After that Yamin raped the woman for months, threatening to post the photos on the internet. She has been sent to Bagerhat Sadar Hospital for medical tests. Police are trying to arrest the accused," OC Monjurul added.
