Dr Hosna Ara, a professor of Chemistry, has been appointed Pro Vice-Chancellor of Khulna University (KU).
In a circular issued on Monday, President Abdul Hamid, who is the chancellor of the university, appointed her for the next four years.
The post of Pro Vice-Chancellor had been vacant for the last eight years and nine months.
Welcoming Dr Hosna Ara, a group of teachers, including Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr Mohammad Fayek Uzzaman and Treasure Prof Sadhan Ranjan Ghosh, delivered speeches during her joining ceremony on Monday.
