According to the information provided by the Chittagong Civil Surgeon office, as of Wednesday, 17,644 people have been diagnosed with the new coronavirus (Covid-19) out of a total of 86,394 samples tested in the district. The total infection rate so far stands at 20.42%.
So far, 13,582 people have recovered from the deadly viral disease. Of them, 2,930 people have recovered while undergoing treatment at different hospitals while 10,652 people have recovered in home isolation. The total recovery rate so far stands at 76.97%.
A total of 276 people have succumbed to the infectious disease and the total death rate so far stands at 1.56%.
As of now, 9,077 people wishing to go abroad have undergone mandatory Covid-19 testing in Chittagong with 266 of them testing positive.

On June 29, the number of coronavirus cases crossed 8,000-mark in Chittagong.
On July 6, Chittagong recorded 10,000 cases of Covid-19.
On July 16, the number of Covid-19 positive cases crossed 12,000-mark.
