A woman was trampled to death by a wild elephant at Saroi union under Lama upazila in Bandarban early Tuesday.
The deceased was identified as Ashrafia Begum, wife of late Ali Takulder, in Andhari Jamalpur area of Saroi union.
A herd of wild elephant attacked Ashrafia Begum when she was sleeping in her house, said Saroi UP Chairman Farid Ul Alam.
Confirming the news, Mizanur Rahman, officer-in-charge of Lama police station said: “We have heard about the incident and members of police were sent to the spot”.
