The administrative building of Jessore University of Science and Technology (JUST) will be under lockdown from August 27 till September 2 as some employees of the university were diagnosed with Covid-19.
During this time, all employees of the university will be tested for coronavirus infection.
Md Abdur Rashid, the university’s public relations officer, confirmed the matter.
JUST authorities took the decision at a meeting on Monday with its Vice-Chancellor Prof Md Anwar Hossain in the chair.
The issue was brought up at the meeting as several employees of the university tested positive for Covid-19. Everyone present agreed that the officers and staff of all the departments, institutes, and offices should be checked for coronavirus infection.
It was decided that all the employees would go through a primary screening at Dr MR Khan Medical Centre; they would provide their samples to the genome centre afterwards.
Only those who test Covid-19 negative will be allowed to do official work. Employees testing Covid-19 positive would be on medical leave.
