A woman and her daughter died after being electrocuted in the Adhunagar area of Chittagong’s Lohagara upazila.
The deceased are Rasheda Begum, 37, and her daughter Moyna Akhtar, 12.
Lohagara Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) Tousif Ahmed confirmed the matter to the Dhaka Tribune.
According to the Lohagara police, the daughter died from electrocution on Monday evening after going to collect arum from a nearby swamp.
The mother died on Tuesday morning when she went to the area in search of her daughter.
It is presumed that the swamp water got electrified after coming into contact with a live electric wire, police said.
