Maritime ports of Chittagong, Cox's Bazar, Mongla and Payra have been advised to hoist local cautionary signal number three, said Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD) on Tuesday.

All fishing boats and trawlers were asked to remain close to the coast and proceed with caution until further notice.

Meanwhile, light to moderate rain or thundershowers accompanied by temporary gusty wind is likely at most places over Rangpur division and at many places over Dhaka, Mymensingh, Barisal, Chittagong, and Sylhet divisions.

BMD also predicted rain at a few places over Rajshahi and Khulna divisions with moderately heavy to heavy falls at places over the country.

Day temperature may remain nearly unchanged and night temperature may fall slightly over the country.

The axis of monsoon trough runs through Rajasthan, Haryana, Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, West Bengal to Assam across central part of Bangladesh. Monsoon is fairly active over Bangladesh and strong over North Bay.

The maximum temperature was recorded 36˚C at Tangail and the lowest temperature today at 24.3˚C in Tetulia on Monday.

The sun will rise at 5:33am on Wednesday and sunset will be at 06:34pm on Thursday in the capital.
