Covid-19: Chittagong’s recovery rate stands at 65%, death rate drops to 1.6%

A total of 1,008 samples have been tested in the last 24 hours from which 125 people have been diagnosed with Covid-19

The current recovery rate from the novel coronavirus (Covid-19) in Chittagong is 65% and the death rate is 1.6%.

As of Wednesday, as many as 2,112 covid-19 patients have been released from the hospitals after recovering from the deadly viral disease.

Besides, a total of 7,027 people have so far been freed from home isolation after recovering from the infectious disease.

According to Chittagong Civil Surgeon’s Office, a total of 1,008 samples have been tested in the last 24 hours and 125 people have been diagnosed with Covid-19.

As of Wednesday, Chittagong recorded a total of 14,101 confirmed cases of Covid-19. Of them, 10,298 people are male while 3,803 people are female.

Of them, 229 people have died of the viral disease. The current death rate from the disease is 1.6%.  

Of the total Covid-19 patients, 70% hails from the metropolitan area while the remaining 30% is from different upazilas of the district.

On April 3, Chittagong recorded the first case of Covid-19.

On June 2, Chittagong exceeded 3,000 novel coronavirus cases.

On June 19, Chittagong crossed 6,000-mark of Covid-19 cases.

On June 29, the number of coronavirus cases crossed 8,000-mark in Chittagong.

On July 6, Chittagong recorded 10,000 cases of Covid-19.

On July 16, the number of Covid-19 positive cases crossed 12,000-mark.
