Dr Iqbal’s father Nurul Alam sought Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina’s attention in finding his son, claiming that reports of his son’s involvement in militancy were false.
The apex court also issued a ruling, asking the authorities concerned why the inactivity of law enforcement agencies in rescuing Iqbal should not be deemed as negligence of duty.

The physician also wondered why he had not been questioned. “No, they did not torture me,” he said in response to queries by reporters.
