Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) detained two members of a gang of robbers, while they were preparing for a heist in Bilbhiduria village of Pabna Sadar upazila on Sunday.
The detainees were identified as Omor Ali and Shohag Pramanik of Bilibhiduria village.
RAB seized a foreign-made pistol, a magazine, two swords, two China-made axes and a knife from their possession.
Acting on a tip-off that armed robbers are preparing at Bhilibhaduria village for a heist, RAB conducted a drive and detained the duo, according to Aminul Kabir Tarafdar, acting camp commander of RAB-12 in Pabna.
However, three to four other robbers managed to escape. RAB said the gang under the leadership of one Imran -- who is currently on the run-- has been committing different crimes in the upazila for a long time.
Filing of a case and handing the detained over to Pabna Sadar police station is under process, RAB further said.
