Another doctor has died with the novel coronavirus like symptoms while undergoing treatment at a private hospital in Chittagong.
The deceased, identified as Dr Nurul Haque, 47, was working as a senior medical officer of Chittagong Metropolitan Hospital.
Confirming the matter to the Dhaka Tribune, Mohammad Selim, General Manager of Chittagong Metropolitan Hospital said that the physician died with Covid-19 symptoms at 6:25 am on Wednesday.
“The doctor was admitted to Chittagong Metropolitan Hospital on June 14. As his condition deteriorated, he was shifted to the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) of the hospital where he died. His sample was sent for Covid-19 test,” said Selim.
On June 14, a physician died with Covid-19 symptoms while undergoing treatment at Chittagong Maa O Shishu Hospital.
The deceased identified as Sadequr Rahman, 65, was a sinologist of Jemison Red Crescent Maternity Hospital.
On June 12, another physician died with the novel coronavirus symptoms while undergoing treatment at Chittagong Medical College Hospital (CMCH).
As of Wednesday, Chittagong recorded 5585 confirmed cases of novel coronavirus.
Of them, 127 patients have already died of the deadly viral disease.
