Three of a family among four killed in Rajbari road accident

The accident took place around 10am on Sunday, when an iron shaft ladden truck collided head-on with a microbus near the Chotobridge area of Khankhanapur village

At least four people have been killed and three others injured in a road accident on the Daulatdia-Kushtia Highway in Sadar upazila, Rajbari.

The accident took place around 10am on Sunday, when an iron shaft ladden truck collided head-on with a microbus near the Chotobridge area of Khankhanapur village, local sources said.

The deceased were identified as Subrota Merry, 32, a resident of Meherpur district, her son Lizan Biswas, 6, her brother, Shamol Mandal, 28 and a driver assistant of the truck, Sohel, 20.

“The Faridpur bound truck collided head-on with the Dhaka bound microbus, killing the four on the spot,” said Station Officer, Md Rabiul Islam of Rajbari Fire Service and Civil Defence.

“We took the three injured to the Faridpur Medical Collge Hospital and handed the dead bodied over to Ahladipur Highway police outpost,” added the officer.

“We will send the bodies for autopsy after the primary investigation,” said Ahladipur police outpost OC Lutfar Rahman.
