Boalkhali Upazila Nirbahi Officer of Chittagong Achhiya Khatoon has tested positive for the novel coronavirus (Covid-19).
Boalkhali Upazila Health and Family Planning Officer Dr Md Zillur Rahman told the Dhaka Tribune that Achhiya Khatoon’s sample was collected on June 6 and the result came back as positive for Covid-19 on Tuesday.
“She is now in home-isolation and she is doing well,” said Dr Zillur.
As of Wednesday, a total of 143 people have tested positive for Covid-19 in Boalkhali upazila of Chittagong.
According to the Chittagong Civil Surgeon’s office, 4,278 people including 3,200 men and 1,078 women have so far been diagnosed with Covid-19 in the district.
Of them, 102 patients have died of the deadly viral disease.
As of Wednesday, 294 patients have returned home after recovering from Covid-19.
