Staff Reporter of Independent TV under Chittagong Bureau Ahsanul Kabir Riton tested positive for Covid-19 on Saturday.
Confirming the matter, Anupam Shill, Chittagong Bureau in-charge of the private television channel, said the condition of his colleague is now stable.
"He [Riton] began to feel unwell and had a fever on May 10. Out of curiosity, he went to Chittagong General Hospital and gave his sample for Covid-19 test. It came out positive on Saturday," Anupam said.
"We are now trying to test our samples for the infection also. We have decided not to go home and are now staying at the office as a precaution," he added.
Till May 15, Chittagong recorded a total of 641 confirmed cases of Covid-19. Of them, 32 people have died of the deadly disease.
Covid-19, a severe acute respiratory illness caused by a new strain of coronavirus, has claimed 314 lives and infected 20,995 people in the country as of May 16.
