Coronavirus: Most Ctg shopping malls, markets will be shut till May 31

'Taking a cue from the meeting, other markets and shopping malls will follow suit'

Aiming to contain the spread of coronavirus, most of the shopping malls and markets of the port city have decided to remain shut till May 31.

The decision was taken unanimously during a meeting held on the premises of Mimi Super Market in Chittagong on Friday.

Zakir Hossain, president of Mimi Super Market chaired the meeting where representatives from 10 markets and shopping malls participated.

Confirming the matter to the Dhaka Tribune, Zakir Hossain said that 10 shopping malls of the port city have consented to the decision of keeping the markets shut till May 31.

Taking a cue from the meeting, other markets and shopping malls will follow suit, hoped Zakir.

Meanwhile, the government on Tuesday allowed business owners to open shops and shopping malls for six hours from 10am to 4pm from Sunday, maintaining health guidelines.
