Three physicians and 15 staffers including nurses and ward boys of a private hospital in Chittagong have been sent for home quarantine as they came into contact with a coronavirus patient there.
The doctors and the health workers were isolated since Friday evening. Their samples have been collected for tests, reports BSS , quoting Chittagong Civil Surgeon Sheikh Fazle Rabbi.
A 67-year-old man in Chittagong tested positive for coronavirus on Friday, making him the port city’s first confirmed case of the virus.
The patient has been undergoing treatment at the Chittagong General Hospital from Thursday.
His samples were tested at the Bangladesh Institute of Tropical and Infectious Diseases (BITID) and the patient was found positive for coronavirus.
A total of 87 samples were tested at the Bangladesh Institute of Tropical and Infectious Disease (BITID), Faujdarhat in Chittagong till Friday night so far.
Meanwhile, the deadly virus so far has infected at least 70 people and killed eight in Bangladesh until Saturday, according to health authorities
