Elephant kills woman in Cox’s Bazar

According to witnesses, Ali Hossain’s house came under attack by a herd of wild elephants

A wild elephant has trampled a woman to death on the Cox’s Bazar-Teknaf Marine Drive Road at Himchhari in Ramu upazila.

The incident occurred on Tuesday, reports UNB.

The deceased was identified as Nur Zahan, wife of Ali Hossain.

According to witnesses, Ali Hossain’s house came under attack by a herd of wild elephants around 10am.

At one point, Nur Zahan found herself in front of an elephant, which then trampled her to death, said Abul Khayer, officer-in-charge of Ramu Police Station.

On information, police visited the spot and recovered the body.
