A Bhola court has sent three persons including Biplob Chandra Shuvo, the holder of hacked Facebook account, to jail after the end of 3-day remand in a case filed under Digital Security Act.

The other two persons sent to jail are - Md Imon, 18, and Rafsan Islam Sarif, 18, both hailing from the Kachia union of the Borhanuddin upazila.

Confirming the matter, Sub-Inspector of Borhanuddin police station Mohaiminul Islam said, also the investigating officer of the case, said: "Additional Chief Judicial Magistrate Sharif Md Sanaul Haque passed the order on Wednesday night."

They were produced before the court after the end of a three-day remand for each, he added.

Defense counsel Monirul Islam said: "We have applied for Biplob's bail. Hopefully, the court will grant him bail on November 3 after the hearing."

Police have already confirmed that Biplob's Facebook account was hacked, he added.

On October 20, four people were killed, and over 200 injured in Bhola's Borhanuddin upazila as police opened fire to disperse a mob, who gathered to demand punishment for a Hindu man who they believed was responsible for hate mongering against Islam on the Facebook Messenger app.

Later in the evening, Buhanuddin police station Sub-Inspector Delwar Hossain filed a case against them, and seven to eight unnamed others under the Digital Security Act for spreading messages containing derogatory remarks on Islam.

Police and locals said messages containing derogatory remarks about Allah and Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) were sent to several individuals from the Facebook ID of Biplob Chandra Shuvo. Screenshots of the messages went viral on Facebook, triggering condemnation and protests.

Biplob went to the Borhanuddin police station on October 19 to file a general diary claiming that his account had been hacked. Police also detained two suspected hackers.

A case was filed against 5,000 unknown people over the clash with Borhanuddin police station.
