A male patient has been found hanging from the ventilator of a toilet at the Sadar Hospital in Sherpur district.
The incident occurred around 10pm on Wednesday, reports UNB.
The deceased is Abdul Malek, 65, a resident of Lasmanpur village in Sherpur Sadar upazila.
Abdullah al Mamun, officer-in-charge (OC) of Sherpur police station, confirmed the matter.
He said: “Malek got admitted to the hospital on Saturday after being diagnosed with a urinary tract infection.”
“On Wednesday night, his wife found him hanging from the ventilator of the toilet.”
Later, police recovered the body and sent it to the hospital morgue for autopsy.
The cause of death is still not known. However, police suspect that Malek might have killed himself.
