Train communication between Kishoreganj and Mymensingh became suspended after two bogies of a freight train derailed in Nilganj Mohinanda Bhadrapara area under Kishoreganj Sadar upazila.
The incident took place around 5:30am on Saturday, Abdur Rahman Biswas, in-charge of Kishoreganj railway police station, said, reports UNB.
Two bogies of a Jamalpur-bound freight train from Chittagong veered off the tracks, halting train communications on the route, he said.
A relief train from Mymensingh went to the spot and started working to resume train services, the police official said.
Rail communication between Dhaka and Kishoreganj remains normal, he said.
