The mobile phone and laptop used by Maldivian model Raudha Athif, who was found dead at a dormitory of Islami Bank Medical College in Rajshahi on March 29, has been sent to the forensic lab of the CID.
Rajshahi CID Inspector Asmaul Hoque, who is also the investigation officer of the two cases filed over the sensational death, confirmed this to the Dhaka Tribune Sunday.
The CID started their investigation after taking charge of the two cases on Friday. One of the cases was filed for unnatural death while Raudha’s father Dr Mohammad Athif lodged the murder case alleging that his daughter had been killed in a planned way.
“We have started investigation keeping in mind all the possibilities. The documents of the murder case have been handed over to us from the police. But we did not received the documents of the other case from the DB police [Detective Branch],” said Asmaul Hoque.
On April 10, Raudha’s father filed the murder case with a Rajshahi court and named Seerat Parvin Mohammad as the prime suspect. Seerat was Raudha’s classmate at the medical college.
Seerat, an Indian student from Kashmir, was one of Raudha’s closest friends at the dorm. They lived in adjacent rooms. According to her earlier testimony, she was the last person to see Raudha before she allegedly killed herself on March 29.
Seerat had claimed to have seen her hanging body through the window. She then broke open the door and recovered the body.
