Raudha’s body exhumed for second autopsy

The body of Maldivian model Raudha Athif been exhumed for a second autopsy as ordered by a Rajshahi court. The body was exhumed from Hatemkha graveyard in presence of Executive Magistrate Dr Raktim Chowdhury, Rajshahi CID Inspector Asmaul Hoque and Raudha’s father Dr Mohamed Athif around 10am on Monday. CID Inspector Asmaul Hoque, also the investigation officer, told the Dhaka Tribune: “The body has been sent to Rajshahi Medical College morgue for fresh autopsy.”

On April 18, a Rajshahi court ordered the exhumation of Raudha’s remains for a fresh autopsy. On April 10, Raudha’s father filed the murder case with a Rajshahi court and named Seerat as the prime suspect. Seerat was Raudha’s classmate at Rajshahi Islami Bank Medical College. Seerat, an Indian student from Kashmir, was one of Raudha’s closest friends at the dorm. They lived in adjacent rooms. According to Seerat’s earlier testimony, she was the last person to see Raudha before she allegedly killed herself on March 29. The international model from the Maldives, and a student at the medical college, was buried on April 1 after the autopsy report ruled her death a suicide.
