Saiful Islam Shanti, son of a farmer from Panchagarh Sadar upazila reached Comilla on Saturday after marching 700 kilometres from Tetulia.

When this correspondent talked with him in Choudhurypara of Comilla Sadar, he said: "People are forgetting how to protest. Rifat was murdered in broad daylight. Nobody protested. Nobody cares. Question papers are being leaked, but most efforts have failed to resolve the issue."

He added that during his journey some people offer meals, some offer shelter at night in their home, some offer money, but he has not accepted any help, and is covering his expenses with his earnings from tutoring.

"I give awareness raising speeches whenever I find a crowd on my way.  Some people say I am crazy and I reply back with a song," he added.
