A young man from Rajbari district has taken the initiative to travel 64 districts of Bangladesh on foot.
The young man, Iqbal Mandal alias Yusuf started his official journey from Cox's Bazar Central Shaheed Minar on Thursday morning.
Yusuf is a student and son of Delbar Mandal of Tofadia village of Kalukhali upazila of Rajbari district.
Dhaka TribuneAt the beginning of his journey, Yusuf said he will travel 64 districts of the country on foot in 55 days to create awareness among people about the dangers of drugs, prevent tree cutting and encourage people to donate blood.
After starting from Cox's Bazar, Yusuf will reach his district Rajbari on January 5 next year. He will walk for an average of 10 hours every day. He will first travel Bandarban, Rangamati, Khagrachari and Feni district then the whole country, he said.
He has not found any sponsors for cooperation yet, he added.
Dhaka TribuneBefore this, Yusuf walked 130 kilometres from Khulna to Rajbari's Baliakandi in 24 hours and from Dhaka to Rajbari in 14 hours.
Besides, Yusuf claimed that he walks about 30 kilometres a day to keep himself fit.
