A woman has been arrested for carrying drugs and arms from Benapole'sShibnathpurBaropota village, in a drive by the Benapoleport police station.
Rehana Begum, 40, was arrested Sunday evening.
However, the woman's husband Kamrul, actual owner of the firearm, fled from the scene.
Confirming the matter, Benapoleport police station Officer-in-Charge Syed Alamgir Hossain said: "We will send the arrested to Jessore court under the Arms Act Monday morning."
Police also recovered one American 9mm revolver, four rounds of bullets, and 15 bottles of phensedyl from the scene.
Police will continue its drive to arrest OC Kamrul, he added.
