3 bodies recovered in 3 districts

The incidents occurred in Pabna, Bogra and Khulna districts

Police and Fire Service have recovered three bodies from different areas of Pabna, Bogra and Khulna districts.

The separate incidents occurred at different times on Thursday and Friday. 

In Pabna, the body of a man has been recovered in Pakshi hotel in Ishwardi upazila on Friday morning.

The deceased is identified as Tanvir Rayhan, 44.

Pakshi police outpost Officer-in-Charge (OC) Shahidul Islam said: "Tanvir had rented a room at Pakshi hotel on July 22. When he did not open the door in the morning, hotel officials called the police. Later police found Tanvir dead sitting on a chair in the hotel room.

Quoting family members, police said Tanvir was sick and had been suffering from artery block in his heart.

Ishwardi police station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Bahauddin Faruki said they did not find any injury marks on his body. However, the body has been sent for autopsy to verify whether he died of natural causes.

In Bogra, a woman has been found dead in Narudi Khandarpara area in Bogra on Friday morning.

The deceased is identified as Chameli Begum, 32.

Bogra Sadar police station Inspector (Investigation) Rejaul Karim Reza said locals are suspecting it to be a murder.

He said: “Chameli’s husband Rubel Miah used to beat her up quite often. Rubel might have killed Chameli and hung her body, suspecting her of stealing money,” he said.

He further said they will find out whether she died of natural causes through autopsy report. 

In Khulna, the floating body of an employee of Khulna Government Women’s College was recovered from a pond at the college premises on Thursday night.

The deceased was identified as Faruk Sohel, 30, a computer operator of the college, reports UNB.

Faruk used to live at the college premises with his family.

Quoting family members, Fire Service Inspector Nurul Alam Raju said Faruk went to the pond to perform ablution (wudu) before Isha prayer and went missing since then.

Later, divers conducted a rescue operation around 11pm and recovered the body of Faruk around 1:30am, he said.

Faruk might have slipped into the pond and drowned, he added.
