Police arrested the driver of the truck which severed of the right arm of college student Feroz Sarkar in a road accident.
Bus driver Faruk Hossain, 39, was arrested from Puthia Bazar of the Puthiaupazila on Thursday.
Tipped off, a team of police conducted a drive in the area around 7am and arrested Faruk, the driver of 'Mohammad Paribahan', said Golam RuhulKuddus, spokesperson of Rajshahi Metropolitan Police.
Police also seized the truck involved in the road accident from the upazila on Wednesday night; the bus was seized on Saturday.
Feroz Sarkar, 25, a Masters student of social welfare department of Rajshahi Government College, lost his right hand when a sand-laden truck hit the back of a bus in Katakhali area on the outskirts of Rajshahi city on Friday.
When the accident took place, he kept his right arm on the window, according to police. Feroz was travelling on the bus while going to Rajshahi from his home in Nandigram, Bogra.
He is currently undergoing treatment at Rajshahi Medical College Hospital.
A case was filed with Katakhali police station on Saturday.
