At least seven people were killed in separate road accidents in five districts of the country on Tuesday.
In Tangail, a man was killed in a road accident in the Charpara area of the Mirzapur upazila in the afternoon.
The deceased was identified as Majnu Mia, 48.
According to police and locals, Majnu's motorcycle collided head on with a truck on the Dhaka-Tangail Highway, leaving him severely injured.
When he was sent to Mirzapur Kumudini hospital, the doctor declared him dead.
In Dinajpur, a teenage boy was killed in a road accident on the Dhaka-Dinajpur Highway in the Birol upazila in the morning.
The deceased was identified as Abdul Hakim Ananda, 17.
One of the witnesses, Firoz Hossain, said a Rahbar Paribahan bus ran over Ananda while he was heading towards the Dinajpur town riding a bicycle. He died on the spot.
Locals blocked the highway for around an hour protesting the accident.
In Sirajganj, two people including a child were killed after a bus collided with a truck in the Baniagati area of Kamarkhand upazila in the afternoon.
The deceased were identified as Atikur Rahman, 7, and his uncle Hiron Ahmed, 40, who was also the truck driver.
Bangabandhu west police station OC Sayed Shahid Alam said the minor died on the spot and Hiron died on the way to the hospital.
In Narayanganj, two people were killed in separate road accidents in the Siddhirganj and Bandar upazilas.
The deceased were identified as Majeda Begum, 63 and Prashanta Mahantar, 24.
In Siddhirganj, a bus hit Prashanta on the Dhaka-Chittagong Highway in the Madaninagar area in the morning. He died on the way to Dhaka Medical College hospital.
In Bandar, Majeda died under the wheels of a truck while she was crossingthe Madanpur Asian Highway in the afternoon.
Police arrested the truck driver and helper in connection with the incident.
In Bogra, a child was killed after a motorcycle carrying her, lost control in the Koigari area of the Sherpur upazila in the afternoon.
The deceased Nabasree Das, 9, died on the spot.
