A fourth grader girl has been reportedly raped by a young man in Sreebardi upazila on Wednesday.
Police arrested an young man, Akram, in the incident.
According to police and family sources, the girl was a student of KG School at Dhaka’s Uttara, reports UNB.
The girl went to her grandfather's house in Shalmara village in the upazila to celebrate Eid-ul-Fitr with her relatives.
She was playing with other kids in Jankikhila Hafezia Madrasa field when Akram lured her to a nearby house and raped her.
Hearing victim's screams, locals rushed in and caught him red-handed.
Later, he was handed over to police.
The girl was first taken to Sreebardi Upazila Health Complex and later moved to Sadar Hospital, said Sreebardi police station OC Ruhul Amin Talukder.
