Three policemen have been injured after a magistrate’s car was attacked and vandalized during a drive to remove illegal structures in Chittagong’s Bayazid area.
The incident occurred in Sher Shar Bangla Bazar area around 4:40pm on Monday.
Six people have been detained over the incident.
Confirming the matter, Bayazid police station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Ataur Rahman Khandaker said: “Some unidentified miscreants attacked the car carrying magistrate Asea Akhter when she was conducting an eviction drive in Sher Shar Bangla Bazar area against illegal establishments, mainly street shops.”
The assailants hurled brick chips and vandalized the magistrate’s car. Three policemen were injured in the attack, he added.
