Two held with phensedyl at Rajshahi University

They allegedly operated inside the university for a while

Police have detained two employees of Rajshahi University with four bottles of phensedyl on the campus.

The two Grade 4 employees of the university were first confronted by students on the road adjacent to Shaheed Shamsujjoha Hall around 5:30pm on Monday.

Later, the students handed over the two to the police.

The two held are Shafiqul Islam, Shahidullah Kola Bhawan guard; and Badol, former employee of the Steward Section.

Confirming the matter to Dhaka Tribune Rajshahi University Proctor, Professor Lutfar Rahman said: "Police have detained two university employees with four bottles of phensedyl."

Citing the police, he said, the two employees held are drug traders and they have been trading drugs on campus for a very long time. 

When contacted, Motihar police station Sub-Inspector (SI) Abdul Momin said: "Two employees of Rajshahi University have been arrested with phensedyl. 

"Necessary steps will be taken upon further investigation."
