To celebrate Pohela Boishakh, all exports and imports are temporarily suspended at Hili land port.
However, the immigration check-post at Hili is open and operating as usual.
Hili Export-Import Association General Secretary, Mostafizur Rahman, on Sunday said: “As today is Pohela Boishakh and a government holiday, all the customs offices are closed. The export and import of all kinds of goods from both countries is not taking place today (Sunday). From tomorrow (Monday) everything will resume as before.
Hili Immigration Check-Post OC, Firoz Kabir, said: “Our immigration services are operating as usual, though it is a government holiday.”
