From morning till evening, Pohela Boishakh celebrations in the capital’s Ramna Park and Shahbagh area were marked by a steady flow of crowds and festive energy.

Despite the intense heat, people continued to arrive in large numbers throughout the day, filling the spaces with family gatherings, movement, and celebration.

By afternoon, entry into Ramna Park became increasingly difficult as crowds moved in both directions—many entering while others exited—creating pressure on movement and crowd control.

Inside the park, a Baul music performance drew large attention, keeping the audience engaged, with many seen singing, clapping, and dancing along.

Abul Hasan, a visiotor at Ramna Park, said the day reflected Bangali cultural identity and emphasized that cultural expression should not be restricted. He also said it is important to introduce younger generations to these traditions.

Another visitor, Entaz Ali, described the festival as inclusive, saying it belongs to all Bangalis regardless of religion or background, and noted that cultural expression should not be confined or targeted.

As the day progressed, the crowd continued to grow.

Families and individuals alike joined the festivities, each participating in their own way. Many attendees echoed a shared sentiment: Pohela Boishakh is a festival for everyone, beyond religion or community.
