A woman was reportedly abducted and gang raped in Sonaimuri upazila of Noakhali.
The woman is a single mother of two children and lives in the upazila’s Nateshwar union.
Police found the woman in Daulatpur village of Bargaon union and admitted her to Noakhali General Hospital on Thursday morning.
Soon after, the victim’s father, Abdul Baki, filed a case with Sonaimuri police station,accusing four men of raping his daughter.
Police arrested two suspects: Aminul Islam Montu and Nizam Uddin, on Thursday evening.
Abdul Baki said: “My daughter was abducted on her way to her grandmother’s house, on Wednesday night. Abductors raped my daughter and left her near an abandoned pond.”
Sonaimuri police station OC Abdus Samad said: “After being informed, police found the woman unconscious, unclothed, and injured. She was immediately admitted to a hospital.
“Two suspects in the case have been arrested and the remaining will soon be detained too.”
