A college student has been killed, and three others have been injured, in a road accident in Lakshmipur.
A motorcycle collided head-on with an auto-rickshaw in Khilbaisa area of Sadar upazila on Wednesday morning.
The deceased—Adnan Hossain, son of Ismail Hossain of the upazila's Mirzapur village—was a first-year student of Lakshmipur Government College.
The three injured are motorcyclist Rinku, and auto-rickshaw passengers Anjuman and Abul Hossain.
Confirming the matter to the Dhaka Tribune, Lakshmipur Sadar Hospital Resident Medical Officer Dr Anwar Hossain said the on-duty doctors pronounced Adnan dead when he was brought to the hospital.
According to police officials, Adnan and Rinku were on their way to Khilbaisa area on a motorcycle when the accident occurred, leaving four people severely injured.
Lakshmipur Sadar police station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Lokman Hossain said: "On information, we went to the spot and sent the injured to Lakshmipur Sadar Hospital."
