Adivasi couple slaughtered in Bandarban

An indigenous couple has been found slaughtered in Yeangcho area of Lama Upazila, Bandarban. The deceased are Kyahla Ching Marma, 75, and his wife Ching Hlani Marma. Police recovered the bodies on Saturday morning and sent those to Bandarban Sadar Hospital for autopsy. Confirming the incident, Lama police Officer-in-Charge Anwar Hossain said that the couple had been murdered in sleep at their house in the dead of the night. Cash and other valuables were also looted by the killers. Locals said that Kyahla Ching had a long-standing dispute with his elder brother over a piece of land. The incident might have happened following the rivalry. Police are investigating the matter and have not arrested anyone over the double murder.
