A teenager has been beaten to death over a cricket game in Comilla district.
The deceased was identified as Sazzatul Islam,16, son of Shafiqul Islam of Dishabond village in the town.
According to sources, Sazzatul and one Yusuf of the village got into an altercation on Friday afternoon while playing cricket at the village field.
At one stage, Yusuf hit Sazzatul with a cricket bat, leaving him critically injured.
Locals admitted him to Comilla Medical from where he was sent to Dhaka as his condition deteriorated.
Sazzatul died on Saturday night at a hospital in Dhaka.
Comilla City Corporation Ward Councilor Suruj Mian confirmed the incident.
When contacted, Comilla Sadar south police station Officer-in-Charge, Mamunur Rashid, said no body filed any case in this connection.
"We will take steps after investigation," the OC said.
