At least 10 students were injured when a speeding Chittagong-bound train rammed a picnic bus carrying madrasah students and teachers in Chittagong.
The accident occurred on Wednesday around 2pm at Sitakunda Eco-Park rail crossing area under Sitakunda upazila in Chittagong.
Five injured students were rushed to Chittagong Medical College Hospital (CMCH) and the remaining students were taken to Sitakunda Upazila Health Complex.
According to Sitakunda police, the picnic bus carrying students and teachers of Feni Darul Arkam Madrasah was bound for Sitakunda Eco-Park.
An inter-city train rammed the picnic bus when it was crossing a rail crossing, during which ten students received injuries, the police said.
The accident occurred due to the absence of a rail crossing gateman, but the train communication did not face any disruption following the collision, police added.
