Mobile court shuts 4 coaching centres in Keraniganj

The court also fined each of the centres’ owners Tk1,000

Update : 08 Feb 2019, 03:03 PM

Four coaching centres have been fined and shut—by a mobile court in Keraniganj—because they kept their businesses open during the Secondary School Certificate (SSC) exams, defying the government’s ban.

A mobile court, along with members of Rapid Action Battalion (RAB 10), conducted drives in different areas of South Keraniganj.

The court also fined each of the centres’ owners Tk 1,000.

The coaching centres are: Shatata, Confidence, Pathshala, and MR.

Rapid Action battalion (RAB) Media and Legal Wing Senior Assistant Director Mizanur Rahman Bhuiyan confirmed the matter to the Dhaka Tribune on Friday around noon.

Due to the ongoing SSC, and its equivalent examinations, that began on February 2, the government earlier issued a directive to shut all coaching centres across the country from January 27 to February 27. The move was made to avert question paper leaks.
