Examinees at seven centres in Chittagong and Cox's Bazar were given wrong question papers on the first day of the Secondary School Certificate (SSC) and equivalent examinations.

The students had received question paper sets of the previous year (2018) for the Bangla first paper exam on Saturday.

Officials of the Chittagong Education Board said they received such allegations from these centres till 5:00pm.

The SSC examinations began across the country on Saturday with the Bangla First Paper exam.

The seven examination centres where the wrong question papers were distributed are: Dr Khastagir Government Girls’ High School, Municipal Model High School, Garibe Newaz School, Patenga High School in the port city, Pekua Girls’ High School, Ukhiya Girls’ High School, and Palongkhali High School in Cox’s Bazar.

The education board was unable to give the exact number of examinees affected by the mistake.

Controller of Chittagong Education Board Exam, Mahbub Hassan, said the incident might have occurred due to the respective exam centre officials.

“We have so far got information about the mistake from seven centres. However, the exact number of affected examinees will be identified and necessary action will be taken so that no student faces any problem,” he said.
