Jubo League leader allegedly attacks RMG workers' union president in Ashulia

A Jubo League leader has allegedly assaulted the president of workers' union of a garment factory - SB Knitting Ltd in connection to the RMG workers' protest regarding wage discrepancies in Ashulia.

The incident reportedly took place on Thursday, after Murad Sarker, president of a worker's union, refused to direct the workers in his factory, to stop boycotting work, when he asked by the factory administration.

According to the victim Murad, Ashulia Jubo League Joint Convener Moinul Islam Bhuiya and his men had allegedly ambushed him, after he had left the factory.

He was found critically injured when rescued the Asian Hospital and Diagnostic Center in the area by his family members.

The accused Ashulia Jubo League Joint Convener and Union Parishad Member Moinul denied the allegations and said that he was being framed.

Ashulia police station Inspector (Investigation) Jabed Masud said he had no knowledge of the incident, however if any written complaint is filed, the matter will be investigated for necessary legal actions.
