A spotted deer has been run over by a speeding train inside the Lawachara Rain Forest and National Park in Moulvibazar, Sylhet.
The carcass was found by the Forest Department officials near the forest’s railway track at the Khashia Pan Panji area on Wednesday morning.
The locals first saw the deer lying beside the railway track and informed the Forest Department.
The deer was buried after an autopsy, said wildlife conservation and management officials.
Sreemangal Assistant Forest Official (wildlife conservation and management) Anisur Rahman confirmed the news.
He said: “A veterinary surgeon of the Water Resources Department conducted the autopsy of the deer. Recently another incident like this killed a deer in the region.”
