Four people have been killed and three others injured in a head-on collision between a bus and a CNG-run autorickshaw in Mashka Bazar area under Kendua upazila of Netrokona district.
The incident occurred on the Kendua-Atharabari highway around 2:45pm Saturday.
The deceased are Sharif, 20, Nazir Uddin, 27, Murad, 18, and Jamal Miya, 35.
Injured Golam Rabbani, 22, Joshim, 40, and Shakib, 20, were taken to Mymensingh Medical College Hospital in critical condition.
Kendua police station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Imarat Hossain Gazi said: “A bus heading to Kendua collided with an autorickshaw coming from the opposite direction, leaving seven injured.
“The injured were taken to the hospital, where four were declared dead.”
“The bus was seized, but the driver escaped. We are trying to catch him,” he said.
