15 injured in road accident in Jhenidah

The injured have been admitted to various local clinics

A total 15 people were injured in a road accident in Jhenidah.

A Jessore bound bus from Kushtia lost control and fell into a roadside ditch in the Kheyabagan area of the Jhenidah-Jessore highway on Friday, Kaliganj police station Officer-in-Charge Mizanur Rahman said.

Fifteen passengers were injured in the accident. They were rescued and admitted to Kaliganj upazila health complex and various other local clinics. 

Currently, traffic is normal on the highway.

Body found on Jhenidah-Chuadanga road

A body was recovered from the Shadhuhati Girls' School area on Jhenidah-Chuadanga road in Jhenidah Sadar on the early hours of Friday.

The deceased's identity is yet to be discerned. 

Jhenidah Sadar police station Officer-in-Charge Emdadul Haque Sheikh said police recovered the body after locals informed them of a mutilated corpse lying on the road. 

Police suspect the deceased could be a victim of a bus or truck accident, he said. The body has been sent to Jhenidah Sadar Hospital for autopsy.
