After having been closed for several days due to the Eid-ul-Fitr holidays, the land ports at Benapole and Bhomra formally opened on Monday.
Import and export between India and Bangladesh was closed from June 14-17 at Benapole, but movement of people through the borders was open.
Benapole Clearing and Forwarding Agents Association President Emdadul Haque said the importers of Bangladesh are yet to reopen their offices properly, and the port would be fully operational within a few days.
At Bhomra Port, import-export was shut from June 13-17.
Goods laden trucks began to cross through the port again from Monday.
Port tariff station Deputy Commissioner Rezaul Haque said although import and export were closed during the holidays, immigration activities were normal.
