An activist of Jubo League was killed in an attack allegedly by a faction of the party on Chatteshwari road at Dampara in the Chwakbazar area of Chittagong on Sunday night.
The deceased was identified as Anik, 34.
Around 30-35 miscreants attacked Anik and opened fire on him at around 11 pm, leaving him dead on the spot, said Chwakbazar police station OC Abul Kamal.
Tushar and Anik, two supporters of Chittagong city Mayor Nasir, had a rivalry, said Bagmonirum ward Councillor and Awami League leader Gias Uddin.
