Police on Wednesday recovered from Chhoto Darogahat area in Chittagong’s Sitakunda upazila the bullet-hit body of a man accused in the case filed over the killing of two Tripura girls.
The deceased was identified as Mohammad Rajib, 27, son of Mohammad Hanif.
Sitakunda police station OC Mozammel Haque said locals informed police after spotting Rajib’s body in a field.
He said several gunshot wounds were seen in Rajib’s body while two yaba pills were found on him.
Police said the youth might have been killed by his rival group over drug peddling.
On May 18, two teenage girls – Sukhlati Tripura, 15, daughter of Falin Tripura, and Chhobi Rani Tripura, 12, daughter of Sumon Tripura – were found dead at Jangal Mahadevpur hilly village in Sitakunda.
Sukhlati’s father alleged that local hooligan Abul Hossain and his associates raped and killed his daughter as Sukhlati earlier rejected his relationship proposal.
